The In House Aesthetic Treatment Process
- Digital Mapping & Symmetry: We begin by 3D-scanning both your sound limb and the residual area. This allows us to create a digital “mirror image,” ensuring your restoration is in perfect balance with your body’s natural proportions.
- Precision Interior Design: Using your unique digital scan data, we design a custom interior that matches your limb exactly. This digital process ensures a secure and comfortable connection for all-day wear and functional tasks.
- Integrated In-House Fabrication: We utilize on-site 3D printing to create the molds for your medical-grade silicone restoration. For level three fingers, our clinical artists then perform in-person skin-tone matching and hand painted right here in our local lab to ensure a seamless result.
- Fitting & Digital Archiving: Once the final fitting is complete, we securely archive your unique 3D designs in our Digital Library. This allows for efficient replacements or seasonal skin-tone updates that evolve with your lifestyle.
Patient FAQ: Selecting Your Level of Realism
What are the three levels of in-house fabrication?
We offer three tiers so you can choose the option that best fits your daily goals
- Level 1 (Essential): The inside is custom-fitted to your limb for security using 3D scans. The outside shape is a “best-fit” chosen from our library of natural digital fingers.
- Level 2 (Advanced): A full anatomical mirror. The outside is a shape restoration of your own hand and includes custom-matched fingernails to reflect your sound side in a single colour.
- Level 3 (Premier Artistry): Our most refined level of detail. This includes the Level 2 mirror plus hand-painting by our clinical artists to capture your skin’s unique character. At this level, you can be present in the clinic while we perform the final color matching
By scanning both your sound hand and your injury, we can digitally overlay the two shapes. We then “subtract” your limb’s shape from the mirror image to create a perfect, snug “void” inside the prosthesis. This creates a secure connection that feels more natural during daily tasks.
It is a secure digital backup of your hand’s design. If you lose your prosthesis or it wears out over time, we don’t need to start over with new measurements. We can simply use your saved 3D files to make a new one.
Yes. Since we store your digital blueprint, we can create different versions for different needs or seasonal skin tone changes.
Aesthetic silicone requires a blend of technology and hand painting. By doing the 3D scanning, design, and silicone work in our own lab, we have total control over the results. This allows us to work directly with you to ensure your restoration meets your expectations for comfort and appearance.
