Carl Ganzert, M.Sc. C.O.(c)

Carl is a Canadian certified Orthotist. With a M.Sc. in McMaster University’s Rehabilitation Science program, he strives to meld research guided practice, innovative technology and artisan clinical techniques. Carl has a passion for improving treatment transparency at the day to day healthcare level. His clinical interest centers around scoliosis bracing for spinal asymmetries and the management of complex limb deformities driven by spasticity. He also specializes in collaborative protocols for Upper Motor Neuron complexities in conjunction with the New West Rehab Neuro physiatrist group and conservative scoliosis management with the ScoliClinic.

As the acting director of the Hodgson group’s research division, Carl is involved in coordinating student based and independent research. He is passionate about new opportunities in the realm of digital design and 3D printing. Carl holds board positions on Canadian Advances in Neuro-Orthopedics for Spasticity Congress (CANOSC) congress series and SFU’s Mechatronics Industry Advisory Board.

Outside of the clinic, Carl’s passions including his young family, rock climbing, creative writing, and philosophy.
